Kelly bars are key components in the execution of boreholes by hydraulic rotary drilling rigs. They transfer the torque of the rotary drive and the crowd pressure of the crowd system concurrently to the drilling tool. A kelly bar consists of more telescopic tubular sections with a system of drive keys and lock recesses, welded onto their outer surfaces. Standard kelly bars are fabricated with a total of 6 drive keys on each section. The tubular kelly sections are manufactured from high-tensile steel to ensure minimum weight at adequate strength. Standard kelly bars are delivered as friction Kelly bar or fully interlocking Kelly bar, suitable for Soilmec, Casagrande, Liebherr, Bauer, Sany, Xcmg, Zoomlion, IMT, MAIT, and more drilling rigs.
Locking kelly bar system are especially designed for drilling into hard materials and when crowd force application is required.Locking kelly bars are provided with drive rails designed with locking pockets on their length and corresponding termina joints locking guides. The purpose is to interlock each telescopic element to the inner following one in order to apply the maximum torque and crowd force developed by the base rig.Therefore the rotary table inner drive is also equipped with locking pockets,. When extracting the locking bar from down the hole, the combination of lifting and rotating counterclockwise will allow the telescopic element to unlock. interlocking Kelly bars are usually supplied with 3 or 4 telescopic elements.

Friction kelly bar derives its name from the means by which it transfers torque to the drilling tool. The telescopic elements are advanced by using the “frictional contact” from each of the friction drive rails that run down the outside of each kelly bar. These drive rails, on the outside of each kelly bar, are driven by the rotary table and the terminal joints of each successively larger diameter kelly bar. The terminal joint is a long piece on the inside and at the bottom of each kelly bar. Friction kelly bars are normally supplied in 4 or 5 telescopic elements as they are mostly used for deep piles in medium-hard soil conditions.

1. If the total length of the kelly bar is less than 11.5 meters and the total weight does not exceed 28T, we will use containers for shipment.
2. If the total length of the kelly bar exceeds 11.5 meters, we will ship it in bulk.

1. Please tell us which style of kelly bar do you need? There is 3 style for your choice, Interlocking kelly bar, Friction Kelly Bar, and Full lock kelly bar.
2. Tell us the brand and model of the equipment to install the kelly bar, or tell us about the torque and pressure of the powerhead of the equipment? Such as Bauer BG28, Soilmec SR30, Sany sr40, Mait HR180.
3. Please tell us the outer diameter of the kelly bar and the length of the single section bar you need, or tell us how deep you need to drill the pile, we can calculate the number of sections and length you need according to your requirements. (406 OD,4 elements, each element with 11meter, or total need drill depth with 38meter)
4. Please tell us the size requirements of the square head of the drill pipe. For example, the square head generally used by Bauer is a 200mm*200mm kelly box, and Sany is a 150*150mm, 200*200mm, or 250*250mm kelly box.
5. For example, my equipment is Soilmec Sr40. I need 2 Soilmec Interlocking Kelly Bar with a diameter of 355,4 sections and each section is 9 meters long. We will provide you with a 355-4*9m interlocking kelly bar.
